CCTV reporters have just learned that the Intermediate People's Court of Guiyang City, Guizhou Province once again found that Yu Huaying's crime was particularly serious and extremely harmful to society, and sentenced the defendant Yu Huaying to child trafficking in accordance with the law. Crime, sentenced to death, deprivation of political rights for life, and confiscation of all personal property.

Review of the case

In 2004, Yu Huaying was arrested while committing a crime in Yunnan. Because of fear, she concealed her identity and transformed into Zhang Yun. She was sentenced to 8 years, but her sentence was reduced by 3 years, and she was released in 2009.

In 2022, the abducted girl Yang Niuhua reported the crime, and Yu Huaying was arrested again, and her crimes were constantly revealed.

On September 18, 2023, the Guiyang Intermediate People’s Court convicted Yu Huaying of child abduction and trafficking in the first instance. The circumstances were particularly serious and the impact was particularly bad. The first instance sentenced Yu Huaying to death and deprived her of political rights for life.

On November 28, 2023, the second instance of the case was held in the Guizhou Provincial Higher People’s Court.

On January 8, 2024, the Guizhou Provincial Higher People's Court made a second-instance ruling on Yu Huaying's child trafficking case and remanded it for retrial. The court held that the original judgment omitted the other criminal facts of child abduction and trafficking of the defendant Yu Huaying in the original trial, and some facts were unclear. In order to find out all the criminal facts of the appellant Yu Huaying, a retrial should be carried out.

On October 11, 2024, the first instance of Yu Huaying’s suspected child abduction and trafficking case was retried. The public prosecution agency recommended that Yu Huaying be sentenced to death.
