Among them, 23.119 million passengers were sent on May 1, setting a record high for a single-day passenger volume. The national railway sent a total of 89.481 million tons of cargo, an increase of 4.6% year-on-year, showing a prosperous trend of passenger and freight transportation, and the national railway transportation was safe, stable and orderly.

The head of the Ministry of Transport of China Railway Group introduced that during this May Day holiday, the railway passenger flow remained at a high level, and the freight market demand was strong. The railway department coordinated the use of lines, stations, equipment and other resources, carefully organized passenger and freight transportation, and made every effort to ensure safe, convenient and warm travel for the general public and the transportation of key national economy and livelihood materials. The daily passenger volume and passenger capacity deployment hit a record high, dynamically track passenger flow, adhere to demand-oriented, timely increase capacity deployment in popular directions and ranges, and drive tourist trains, public welfare "slow trains" and "rural revitalization" trains to meet the diverse travel needs of passengers on holidays. The national railways operate an average of 12,801 passenger trains per day, an increase of 6.8% year-on-year. Among them, 13,752 were arranged to be launched on May 1, and the single-day passenger capacity deployment hit a record high.
