Yuexi County, Liangshan Prefecture, Sichuan Province is one of the last 52 poor counties to be lifted out of poverty in the country. On the eve of this year's Spring Festival, a reporter from the Taiwan "Traveling to the Grassroots" came to the Yuexi County Grassroots Community to visit the new life of the relocated people in the past four years of poverty alleviation.

In the new round of east-west cooperation, Ningbo provides counterparts to Liangshan Prefecture, providing more than 6,000 positions to Yuexi County every year. Shi Qiang is the director of the Yuexi County Employment Bureau. When he first moved down, he took 20 job information to the Gratitude Community, but only two people were recruited. Over the past five years, cadres have recommended suitable positions to residents from door to door. The county employment bureau cadres are also stationed in Ningbo to help the migrant workers solve their difficulties at any time. Today, more than 2,600 people in the Gratitude Community have gone out to work.

What is even more difficult to find is these women who have been at home for many years. Community cadres encourage them to participate in skills training and find jobs at their doorstep. Xia Tielsil has a disabled leg and has 3 children. Every time she recalls the hardships of life in the mountains, she can't help but shed tears. In order to help her find a job, community cadres ran to her home more than ten times and advised her to participate in the training. Xia Tiexier finally plucked up the courage to go to Xichang to participate in a Yi embroidery skills training, and his horizons were wide open.

55-year-old Pan Agu participated in several skill trainings, and finally found his favorite skill in cooking training - Baobaozi, and opened a bun shop at the entrance of the community.

During the interview, an Yi elder sister put on a headdress embroidered by herself on Wu Jiamu. At this time, the reporter realized that she was actually just a 28-year-old girl, who was the age of loving beauty.

In 2024, Wu Jiamu, the "community old mother" really became a mother, and the lives of the community are also prosperous day by day in the busyness of her and community cadres. I am grateful for the per capita income of more than 6,000 Yi people in the community for growing year by year, reaching more than 13,000 yuan in 2024. The New Year is approaching, and good news comes one by one. The community poverty alleviation workshop has received new orders for cultural and creative products. More than 20 women can make money at their doorstep. Five community residents have set out with another team to work in Ningbo.

In the past few days, we have interviewed in the poverty alleviation relocation community in Daliangshan, which is a relocation community. We have seen many grassroots cadres like Wu Jiamu, who get up early and work late.
