With the arrival of the Qingming Festival, in this spring and prosperous season, people go out for a trip and enjoy the wonderful spring time. The holiday economy is also showing vitality.
In recent years, my country's holiday economy has continued to expand, its structure has been continuously upgraded, and its consumption methods have become increasingly diverse. Taking this year's Spring Festival holiday as an example, according to the data center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the number of domestic travelers nationwide was 501 million, an increase of 5.9% year-on-year; the total domestic travel expenses were 677.02 billion yuan, an increase of 7.0% year-on-year. Market entities at all levels continue to upgrade their consumption models, expand their consumption scale, and improve their consumption quality. In addition to traditional holiday consumption such as travel, catering, hotel accommodation, etc., holiday consumption such as homestay customs, cultural and creative products, and travel equipment has also increased significantly.
People who camp and relax on the lawn by the lake
To strengthen the holiday economy, we must first put the protection of citizens' right to rest and leave. The "National New Year Festival and Anniversary Holiday Measures" revised last year decided that starting from January 1, 2025, all citizens will have 2 days of statutory holidays, of which 1 day will be added to the Spring Festival and Labor Day. The "Special Action Plan to Boost Consumption" issued by the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council not long ago also emphasized that it is necessary to protect the rights and interests of rest and leave, encourage paid annual leave and short holidays to achieve flexible staggered leave. The national level has released a clear policy orientation, and some local holidays have also provided more options for people to consume holidays. For example, on the "Three Month" of the lunar calendar, the holiday notices of Hainan and Guangxi made netizens envious; Xishuangbanna and Dehong, Yunnan will have holidays during the Water Splashing Festival, and local people will celebrate the Dai New Year with guests from afar. Recently, some universities have also made clear the spring break time, and the proposal to explore spring and autumn breaks in primary and secondary schools is also exciting. Take a "travel that goes wherever you say it" based on your own reality, and "recharge" your soul. The holiday economy can provide better nourishment for the comprehensive development of people.
Tourists who are selecting cultural and creative products with local characteristics
To strengthen the holiday economy, we must get out of the bottleneck of singleness, break the shackles of homogeneity, and create effective demand with high-quality supply. In recent years, as the public's tourism vision has shifted from first- and second-tier cities to third- and fourth-tier cities and even towns, some regions are exploring local special resources and creating "Internet celebrity check-in places" that tourists yearn for with their unique local customs and customs, attracting waves of "returning customers". At the same time, many cities have launched holiday cultural and tourism consumption coupons to deepen the integration of online and offline, business, tourism, culture, sports and health, and further stimulate consumers' willingness to travel during the holidays and consumption enthusiasm. All localities should give full play to the enthusiasm of market entities, strengthen creativity first, technology empowerment and refined operations, continuously optimize the consumption environment, and strengthen holiday consumption.
"If you wait for the forest to be like a flower blossom, you will be a flower viewer when going out." It should be noted that large-scale cross-border and cross-regional movements during the holidays are prone to traffic congestion and "overload" in scenic spots. Relevant departments should establish a "one game of chess" awareness, fully mobilize various transportation resources such as aviation, railways, and highways, continuously optimize transportation routes, and improve transportation efficiency; through measures such as expanding tourist attractions, cultural and museum units service projects, and reasonably extending business hours, we should improve reception capabilities, provide more humane services to tourists and create more conveniences.
