The Sanao Nuclear Power Base in Cangnan, Zhejiang is in a busy scene. This is the first "Hualong No. 1" project in the Yangtze River Delta region. On December 31, 2020, the first phase of Sanao Nuclear Power Project officially started. At present, the project has entered the final preparation stage before grid-connected power generation.

At present, Unit No. 1 will undergo joint debugging and testing of equipment at the end of March, and as planned, it will achieve grid-connected power generation by the end of 2025, and Unit No. 2 is currently undergoing equipment installation. In addition, Unit 3 and Unit 4 are also preparing for construction. Builders from all over the world are fighting on the front line of project construction to fully promote the project's engineering progress.

This is also the origin of my country's Hualong No. 1 batch construction. It plans to build 6 nuclear power units with a total installed capacity of about 7.2 million kilowatts. Currently, Unit 2 is under debugging.

Each nuclear power unit of "Hualong No. 1" generates more than 10 billion kWh of electricity per year, which can meet the annual production and household electricity needs of 1 million people in middle-developed countries. In addition to providing clean energy, "Hualong No. 1" has many hidden economic values. It is understood that the design life of the "Hualong One" unit is 60 years. In Dongfang Heavy Machinery located in Nansha, Guangzhou, the steam generators, reactor pressure vessels, etc. of the nuclear power unit are being processed, and many of the core equipment of "Hualong No. 1" are produced by them.

According to statistics, since the development of Hualong No. 1, it has driven more than 5,400 companies upstream and downstream of the nuclear power industry chain, and fully realized the localization of more than 400 key equipment such as nuclear island main equipment.
