CCTV News: A reporter learned from the National Development and Reform Commission on February 10 that data shows that large-scale equipment updates and consumer goods trade-in "two new" policies have been strengthened to expand, effectively enhancing the vitality of the consumer market during the Spring Festival.
During the Spring Festival (January 28-February 4, 2025), the national sales of digital products such as automobiles, home appliances, and mobile phones reached 8.6 million units (sets), with sales of approximately RMB 6.6 billion, RMB 10.5 billion and RMB 14.1 billion respectively; the national sales of digital products such as mobile phones exceeded 4.5 million, accounting for 45% of the total sales of consumer goods for old-for-new.
By region, Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Henan, Hubei, Guangdong and other regions have all traded for new sales exceeding 1.5 billion yuan, ranking among the top in the country.
From the perspective of e-commerce channels, the number of searches for consumer goods on major e-commerce platforms exceeded 40 million, and the order volume increased by more than 40% year-on-year; among digital products such as home appliances and mobile phones participating in the old-for-new subsidy, mobile phone sales accounted for nearly 70%.
The National Development and Reform Commission stated that it has stepped up efforts to expand the implementation of the "two new" policies, and the sales of consumer goods in key areas have increased significantly. The consumption of digital products such as mobile phones has led to the formation of a "New Year's goods wave". The operation process of consumer goods traded in new products has been continuously optimized to provide consumers with more convenient consumption services.
