CCTV News: In the past two days, a large number of inbound tourists have also been welcomed by Hekou Port located in Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province.
At 8 a.m., the Zhongyue Bridge in the Nanxi River was quite lively. In addition to the border residents and labor and trade personnel coming and going, there are also many Vietnamese tourists holding inbound and outbound passes and border residents' certificates. Most of them travel with groups. Under the guidance of the tour guide, they lined up to enter the Nanxi River Joint Inspection Building to complete the entry procedures.
The reporter learned that in Vietnam, local citizens can sign up for a tour group. After the tour group is contacted and reported by a Chinese travel agency, they can carry out "border tours" in Honghe Prefecture in accordance with the prescribed tour routes. Most Vietnamese tour groups have itineraries in about three to five days. Among them, the "ice and snow tour" represented by the Snow Mountain of Jade and the "cultural tour" represented by the Jianshui Ancient City are the two main popular routes.
From January 1 to January 25, 2025, nearly 45,000 foreigners entered the country through "sightseeing and leisure" reasons, of which 7,128 were entered by the tourist team.
Border cities "one-day tour" is very popular
In addition to long-distance travel, a group "one-day tour" in border cities in China has recently become a travel choice for Vietnamese tourists.
The reporter saw that in the mouth of the river, many Vietnamese tourists formed a small tour group of less than 10 people based on their families. They followed the tour guide through the port to enter Hekou County, Yunnan, and went to the local streets and supermarkets to taste snacks and buy New Year's goods. Large shopping supermarkets 2 kilometers away from the port are the first choice for Vietnamese tourists to purchase. Leisure snacks in the form of New Year gift packages, lanterns full of New Year's atmosphere and Fu characters are all very popular.
The tour guide told reporters that as the Chinese Lunar New Year approaches, the "one-day tour" of the Hekou River is becoming more and more popular. "One-day tour" groups usually enter the country from the port every morning, and their itineraries include snack streets, clothing stores, shopping plazas and forest parks. They leave the country and return to Vietnam before retreating at night. In addition to group format, many young Vietnamese people like to rent an electric car near the port of entry and choose to travel with friends. Most of them come from the Old Street Province of Vietnam, which is separated from Hekou County. With a border citizen certificate, you can travel between the two border cities between China and Vietnam in one day. The goal of these young people's travel is mainly to focus on the Chinese specialty food in Night Market Street.
