CCTV News: On the first day of Spring Festival travel, railways across the country are expected to carry 10.3 million passengers. The railway department has increased transportation capacity and strengthened safety guarantees to better serve passengers.
From 0:00 on January 14, the railway department will implement the Spring Festival travel train operation chart based on the first quarter train operation chart, and add temporary passenger trains on popular lines and sections with concentrated passenger flow.

During the Spring Festival, the National Railway Beijing Bureau arranged a total of 220 pairs of passenger and direct EMU peak lines. The State Railway Xi'an Bureau added 170.5 pairs of passenger trains for the Spring Festival, bringing the total number of passenger trains planned to 561, a record high. The National Railway Jinan Bureau adjusts the train schedule in real time based on passenger flow and online ticket booking and advance ticket sales. The maintenance system mobilizes spare capacity to reasonably deploy additional personnel, shorten the departure interval, and ensure sufficient transportation capacity.

According to the relevant person in charge of China Railway Group, a number of new lines such as the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-speed Railway, the Ji-Dayuan High-speed Railway, and the Nanyu Section of the Nan-Zhuhai High-speed Railway were put into operation last year, which effectively expanded the transportation capacity of this year’s Spring Festival.

In order to ensure the convenience of key passengers, the railway department has also set up green channels, maternal and infant waiting rooms and station medical points at major passenger stations, and opened green channels for key passengers such as the elderly, the sick, the disabled and pregnant passengers, and emergency passengers 15 minutes before departure. On the morning of January 14, Shaanxi Xianyang Railway Station officially launched a 24-hour labor union station to provide passengers with medical kits, water dispensers, mobile power supplies and other items to facilitate travel.
